I don't think I'd want it in canon either. I've seen a couple of fan-
fics that venture into the afterlife...I think it's a difficult course. 
I can't quite come up with what that fictional afterlife would be like, 
or for that matter, how Snape would fit into it.

I think DH's epilogue did what JKR wanted it to, but I think we (I) 
needed more of a transition. That 19 year jump was too fast.
