Pippin:
Maybe. But the bat imagery occurs from the beginning of the series and
she doesn't appear to have even thought about vampire!Snape until fans
suggested it. I think it might be more significant that European bats
have an undeservedly malign reputation. In real life they don't prey
on humans and consume many harmful pests.

*lost* it.

Pippin:
I don't think he did lose it. The first thing he said to Dumbledore
was "Don't kill me."

But he chose what was easy over what was right.

When we last saw him as a student, he seemed to envision the Death
Eaters as a grownup version of Slytherin House: a club for smart,
powerful wizards who want to see wizard blood get the respect it
deserves. If some "really bad stuff" had to happen for the other side
to get the message, there are easy ways to excuse or rationalize that.
