Jen: I had the same experience, wondering if the table of contents was 
a fake until getting DH, which verified the few spoilers I'd heard 
about the deaths were true.  I'm not sure I'd seek out spoilers again 
though.  I read all the other HP books cold and had a better first 
experience taking in events rather than waiting for certain things to 
happen - almost like ticking them off a list. In hindsight I missed out 
on the emotional impact of certain events until reading the second 
time.  (Not referring to the table of contents so much as actual plot 
spoilers.)
