Harry did find out that his Dad wasn't perfect (albiet from a highly
biased source) and he knew that once Dumbledore was gone he couldn't
rely on him anymore because he wasn't around. But it wasn't until DH
that he found out that Dumbledore wasn't perfect. He had to adjust to
this and realize that Dumbledore was human. Highly intelligent and
powerful but still human.
