Carol:

Oops! I wonder whether that's why JKR had Fake!Moody demonstrate the
Imperius Curse on spiders in GoF, as foreshadowing of DH? But, still,
that's not proof that the whole troop of them were under the Imperius
Curse. The rest of my argument still stands. (It would have taken a
lot of risk and a group of highly talented DEs ti curse so many
Acromantulas without being stung or eaten, and neither courage nor
talent seems to be widespread among the DEs.)
