Sarah:
I have always hated Remus Lupin for many reasons. I never thought the
curriculum of his Defence class was the greatest, but I'll give him
the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn't choose it. His teaching
*style* is practically unimpeachable, and very successful, which is my
sincere compliment. There are a couple of minor issues like not
giving everyone a chance at the boggart, but he believed at the time
those students were the least in need of practice (in my opinion) and
still, that's a pretty good track record for a Hogwarts Defence
teacher anyway.
Lupin's handling of Neville is especially adept. He goes out of his
way to specifically build up Neville's confidence, right when he most
needs it, by making a joke of the very thing that is bothering
Neville. Lupin also knows all the students' names, and a lot about
them, especially Neville. I'm not sure how he does that.
Well done, Professor Lupin!
