Two Plot Problems

It's sad that we have to find convoluted explanations for what are quite 
simply mistakes in the books.  JKR's books are full of things that are 
inconsistent with each other and don't make sense.
It's evident that her editors (she actually HAD editors?) were either 
incompetant or didn't think it was worth the trouble for a children's book.
She should have sent her books to fanfiction.net to get torn to bits and 
exposed to thousands of reviewers - No fanfric author here would get 
away with the errors in her books without having them pointed out over 
and over again.  Ironic that we are held to a higher standard, while she 
gets the billions.   Damn!
