Just an answer to one part .... I'm pretty sure I saw in a
movie and assumed I remembered from the book.  There was a
picture of members of the Order, which included Neville's
parents as well as young versions of Lupin and Sirius, as
well as Harry's parents, so the Order had formed some time
before Harry's parents had been killed and Sirius sent to
Azkaban.
