> 2. Harry is surprised to not hear DE cheers, and is surprised that
> Voldemort has fallen down. Why? After encountering the Baby-Voldy-
> Thing at King's Cross, wasn't he expecting Voldemort hadn't yet won?

Because just like Voldemort didn't seem to notice the other horcruxes
being destroyed, there was no reason for Harry to believe that he
would have noticed that one.

> 5. Why is it that Harry does not feel the pain of the Crucio? Is it
> the same reason the Dementors don't affect him?

I think that by now the wand had finally found its true owner. When
Draco Malfoy disarmed DD, it learned that it belongs to the owner of
that wand. When the AK hit Harry, the Elder Wand found that Harry was
the owner of "that wand", so it now recognized itself to be Harry's,
and wouldn't do anything to Harry which he didn't approve of.

> 6. Do you believe Voldemort made his offer of forgiveness
> sincerely? Would those who surrendered have been forgiven and
> allowed to live?

No. I think that LV decided to have a cease fire by claiming this -
only to eventually violate it at the correct time.

> Does Voldy believe what he's saying, or is he trying to convince the

He thinks that this is a way to reduce resistance to him - he probably
figured that they were counting on Harry to help them.

> 9. Why/How was Neville able to break free of the Body-Bind Curse?
> He certainly couldn't break free of Hermione's in first year!

Because this was in Harry's best interest. None of LV's spells worked
correctly now - since he was using the Elder wand, which recognized
Harry as its true owner.

> 13. What do you think Harry thought the odds were that Riddle would
> actually be able to find some remorse? Did he believe it was
> possible? Was he doubting DD's statement that nothing could be done
> to help the Voldy-Baby-Thing? Was he offering this up to be able to
> know that he'd done all he could?

DD refered to LV creating "one last chance for himself", and Harry
probably understood this to mean remorse. He also had no wish to kill
LV if he didn't have to.

> 19. Many were disappointed by the part Slytherin played at the end,
> having hoped for so much more from students, children of DEs, etc.
> Thinking of the roles of the Slytherins who *did* play a part –
> Horace and Narcissa in particular – are those parts worth
> celebrating? How significant to the outcome were they?

The Slytherins were critical for the battle against LV to succeed -
and not always on purpose. Starting with Snape, continuing with Crabbe
destroying the diadem Horcrux, and ending with Narcissa and Slughorn.
I think that Slughorn was the least relevant here - LV didn't
understand how to keep his own followers from harming him, whether due
to turning against him (Snape, Narcissa) or due to him not revealing
his secrets to them (Lucius, Crabbe).
