Pippin:
Lupin was ready to kill Pettigrew, and Harry stopped him. Lupin has a
cogent reason for arguing that the time for not killing people because
you don't want to be a killer is past.

The point is not that Harry is a natural pacifist, the point is that
he *chooses* not to be a killer. As part of that, he chooses not to
practice spells that would make killing easier.
