Someone in our world who was as much of an evil lunatic as Tom Riddle might murder each person who got the job, becoming a specialized serial killer. We certainly have cases in our world of a person who was fired or otherwise 'disgruntled' about their job killing co-workers as well as supervisors, why not disgruntled unsuccessful applicants?
