The death eaters went after Neville's parents some time after
Voldemort's fall thinking they knew something about what
happened to Voldemort. In my opinion that has nothing to do
with Voldemort because he did not tell them to go after them
because he was just vapor at the time and the death eaters
knew nothing about the prophecy.
