I agree with Alla. Children aren't responsible for their parents actions so Harry shouldn't feel guilty for James's actions toward Snape. I believe Snape also owed Neville Longbottom an apology for his treatment of him when he first arrived at Hogwarts. I think it's awful that Snape chose to torment the children who didn't have families to protect them. I think Neville learned how not to behave as a teacher from Snape.
