Potioncat:
I was thinking the same thing--actually a random teacher shouldn't be able to take someone's field time; the only person wtih authority over the field should be Madam Hooch. But what 6th year would argue with Snape? We never find out how the issue is resolved, because we follow the Trio to Hagrid's.
