You are right of course, but the question was if you *thought* that Harry saw the Grim when you were reading the book for the first time. I personally didn't believe it was the Grim but I didn't think Harry just saw some stay dog either. I knew that the dog was important somehow, but I had no idea in what way. I wonder if there was someone who guessed it was Sirius from the first reading :-).
