A thought that has recently occurred to me is whether Voldemort was
actually aware that Harry was a Horcrux.

I don't think Voldemort had any idea that Harry actually became a horcrux since he certainly didn't do it on purpose. Voldemort thought that he had to "make" one by virtue of murder, which he did of course, but fell into becoming Vapormort after that one. :)
