How would things be different if Snape had gotten the Elder Wand?

DD had a very narrow need to know view of things.  It would have been unfair not to tell Snape, because on re reading Kings Cross chapter it is clear DD know LV was trying to get the Elder Wand and DD could easily have foreseen what happened to Snape was probably going to happen.  I am not confident DD would have told him, however.  I also am not sure the wand would have been forever rendered powerless just because DD passed it on voluntarily.  After all, Grindenwald stole it so he did not take it by defeating the prior owner.
