Marauder's map question, prior to PoA

one of the Marauders himself. I just assumed that the map would
recognise him as one of its creators and not bother showing his
location  - or perhaps the Marauders charmed it in such a way that

That is a thought -- except that would be another inconsistency in
PoA.
