I learned (from the books) that some people still believe that people can
change their ways. I learned (from the books) that some people understand
that people are very complex and are a mixture of both good and evil. I
learned that, as I have known for awhile, other people also realize that if
you hold on to bitterness and hatred it will eat you up from the inside
out, but you still might have enough good in you to be of some use toward
good in the world. I also learned that some people will never understand
these things. I learned it first outside of HP, but HP confirmed it.
