Geoff:
Being away from home in the Isles of Scilly and only
visiting the public computer room every two or three 
days means I'm a bit behind on this one but I would 
agree copletely with Alla that JKR on this point only 
echoes the real world in the deaths we have been 
thinking about.

In the US and UK certainly, we see our military folk
frequently being killed in Afghanistan and events in 
Syria only underline that gratuitous and random killing
are very much with us today.
