Geoff:
Yes, but my point was that Voldemort [let's not be afraid of using his
proper name :-)] couldn't overcome Harry. That presumably wasn't
apparent to either combatant at that time. I agree that the final Horcrux
had to be destroyed to allow Voldemort to be totally defeated and not
have a re-run of the 1980 scenario, which was why it was so important
that Nagini was taken out after the Forest encounter.
