Geoff:
Not really. It depends on the subject. and the size of the school. I introduced
Computing subjects to the school in South London where I taught and I was
the only specialist member of staff teaching IT to every class and then option
groups in Years 10 and 11 to GCSE level (equivalent to OWLs).
