I would have to say about Dumbledore, I do not agree with you
that he did not trust anyone. Rather I would say he was cautious. As for Lily I do not think wealth mattered ; she was simply attracted to James, he was more fun to be with and Snape burnt his bridges
by using the term mudblood plus being very possessive. . .
