I doubt if that has entered anybody's thinking until now. Fleur 
often gave an impression of thinking herself superior and she 
certainly had a poor view of him in early interactions:

'Fleur frowned. "But evidently zair 'as been a mistake," she said 
contemptuously to Bagman. "'E cannot . 'E is too young."

and...

"Madame Maxine!" said Fleur at once, striding over to her Headmistress.

Not a resounding declaration of confidence - or love - methinks.
