Kelley: Sorry about that; the reminder on this group is set to go out one hour before the Sunday chat begins, but since Yahoo made the changes to groups, some of the features aren't working properly anymore, including the Calendar, which sends the reminders out. I've tried changing it so that the reminder goes out 12 hours before, just to see when it actually goes out, but that won't have an effect until next Sunday. > Deborah: > Is there a way to not get Weekly Chat reminders? I've tried everything I could find or think > of ... Kelley: I'm afraid if you're set to receive each message to the group, you'll get the reminders, too, since the group Calendar sends them out as a message. It does raise the point, and this is something I've been wondering about for some time, if anyone still attends the Sunday chats. If it isn't really of any interest to everyone, or to only very few people, we could just leave the reminder on the OTC group and remove it from here. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who still attends chat--is it worth keeping the reminder? --Kelley -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It clearly goes out an hour before the chat begins *in the chat's own time zone*, which is not much use to the rest of us. Like you, I'd be surprised if it attracts many chatters. I use the archived messages for fun and nostalgia mostly. I've also noticed that the list of special categories of archived messages produce, if clicked on, only a commercial site of some mysterious kind. Seems pretty pointless! Kelley: Oops, sorry, I didn't explain that well--it *is* set to come out one hour before chat time (which is essentially as the message states: Chat start times: 11 am Pacific US 12 noon Mountain US 1 pm Central US 2 pm Eastern US 7 pm UK *But,* since Yahoo's been making changes, the reminder isn't coming out at the time it's supposed to. For me, it should arrive at noon on Sundays, as I'm in the Central US time zone, but I didn't receive it until 3:30 am Monday. The reminders did come out at their proper times when we set them up initially, but that's been a long time ago now, and with Yahoo's tinkering they've gotten messed up. > Deborah: > Like you, I'd be surprised if it attracts many chatters. Another option, I know that when Pottermore first came out there were fan sites that collected the "new Rowling written content" so people could read it without playing the Pottermore games. I don't know if this has been continued. I hope you find a way to get the content, at least. I love the back stories of several of the characters.
