This is a stage play opening on 30 July in London, with the script being published on Harry's birthday. The storyline picks up where book 7 ends, shortly after the epilogue. Harry is an overworked minister staffer, and Albus is starting at Hogwarts, dealing with the legacy of being Harry's son, or so it appears. There is a great deal of press about the play. Rowling wrote the story, with the script a collaborations. Actually the film edition of Fantastic Beasts is this November, and Rowling wrote that screenplay, so there is much to celebrate this year. I have more details, but that should give you a start. No back story, no character development. Kare now: While I respect your disappointment, I have just two words for a lack of back story and character development in a play. Those words are William Shakespeare. Truth be told, this is why I suspect there are two editions, so the first can be more prose like with development details before the second complete edition of the play. In fact some of the press paints the books in this way. Scripts are strange to read, because it's meant to be performed. But until the play comes over here, we'll have to settle I guess. > Sherry: > Will it be coming out in audio? Kare: I haven't heard yet. > Sherry: > And if so, will Jim Dale be reading it? Kare again: No word on audio. Speaking only for myself though I would much prefer an audio production of the play, if not a film of it. Such editions of plays, in audio form I mean, are not uncommon. I have an amazing recording of Sir. Patrick Stewart's stage performance of "A Christmas Carol."
