[HPforGrownups] Perhaps a very simple question?

As far as I know that question has never been answered by Rowling and I
have wondered it myself. In fact, there are some fan fiction stories where
that is what happens (Dursley's being murdered). If anyone else has heard a
reason why JKR never had Voldemort try that, I would love to hear it.

I especially think that the blood protection was questionable after
Voldemort used Harry's blood to help create his new body.
