Hi all, May 2 marks the 18th anniversary of the battle of Hogwarts. Rowling started apologizing each year for a death to mark the event. Last year it was for killing off Fred. This year it is for Remus. Actually her logic where Remus is concerned seems a bit unusual. Rowling says she decided to Kill Remus after allowing Arthur to live in Order of the Phoenix. She says further that the only time her editor saw her cry was over the fate of Teddy, never knowing either of his parents. Some nice sniff-worthy articles on this under the entertainment section of google news. Oh, and for those who use twitter, Rowling's posts on the topic are there as well.
Sherry now:
Yeah, it's been all over the net, facebook groups, twitter. It's incredible to me, how JKR built this world that we all celebrate or mourn, depending on the date.
As for me, I wasn't shocked by the death of Remus. After she murdered Sirius, I figured JKR was going to get rid of all the Marauders and Snape. But Fred was a shocking horrible death. I still wish it had been Charlie or Percy, because we didn't love them the same as we did the Twins.
