Great theory.  I like it!  You have inspired me to write up my theory of how Harry would be Voldemort's downfall, without a direct wand to wand confrontation.  I will have to see what I can do.  I don't think I ever shared that theory.

  Hi Crescent. My theory was before book 6 of course, but I and many others thought it fit Severus's character more. Okay in book 5 when we see his memories, and the man and woman are fighting, they are both described as looking like him so I'm thinking Eileen, his mom, and his grandfather, her dad. So if his dad, a muggle, was killed by Voldemort lets say when Severus was 6. Lets say He, Tobias, had gone into a potions shop to pick up some ingredients for his wife who was under the weather. Voldemort happens to be in the potions shop at the time. Voldemort just kills him for being a Muggle in a wizarding potions shop. Because that's what Voldemort does. LOL. One of Eileen's friends was near and runs in screaming that Tobias was killed...Destitute, Eileen and her young child have to go live with her father, Grand daddy Prince, who happens to be stuck up and hates Muggles. So he's shitty to Severus. Severus counts the years until he gets to go to Hogwarts and escape that crap and what happens but he goes to Hogwarts only to be immediately assaulted by the Gryffindor gang of gits. So he thinks things will improve and they get worse, as he sees it for no apparent or fair reason. All of it progressively worse after the death of his father at Voldemort's hand. So he wants to be a part of taking the bastard down at all cost cause you know Severus is bitter and can hang onto a grudge, this one at least deserving, though I doubt his dad would've wanted that for him. Either way, JKR even has him in book 6 proud seemingly of being the half blood Prince, which could indicate a love for his dad which I had already written into the game before that came out. I could write another essay on all the reasons he and Lily are wrong from beginning to end but yeah. LOL.
