Along the same lines, I'm finding it amusing that we even feel the need to pair up people at all.  Reading Paradigm of Uncertainty, I'm enjoying it greatly, but I think that's because they are older and more mature, but the whole speculation about pairings in the canon, well, it's really rather unnecessary, isn't it?  Or is it just me?

(Now let's see if I just opened a whole new can of worms. <G>)
