Joy: I guess I dont live in a civilized country, because I have had lots of taxi rides that could be described pretty much by Ritas above description.  While the taxis in my current locale (DC) are pretty 
sedate, in my city of origin (NYC) they can be pretty wild.  

Well, Joy, you certainly beat me to the punch!  Whenever I need to take a cab ride anywhere, I climb in, strap myself down, shut my eyes and just hang on tight!
