In my view I can see no reason why Americans should not understand the word mum and so see no reason as to why it ever had to be changed. And here follows a 'joke' - based on one I heard ages ago (it is sort of HP and Christmas related - I hope at least someone gts it (it took me ages to get it - so dont worry if you don't)) On the way down to Christmas Dinner Ron was going on about all his chess victories, which was annoying Harry and Hermione. They have just reached the main entrance when Hermione says "I do like chess nuts boasting in the open foyer!"
