I definitely agree with what you have to say. I think that no matter what age, everyone has something to learn from reading Harry Potter. There are so many life lessons and morals woven into the plots. The fight between good and evil, the power of choice. There are numerous times in which Harry is presented with the temptation and offer to join the side of evil, or wrong doing. When the Sorting Hat wanted to place him with the Slytherin household. When Draco tries to pull him into his allegiance and deceitful friendship. Harry grew up in a wealthy household, yet had very little in the way of materialistic objects. Therefor, he puts very little value on such things, and is generous with the small fortune his parents left him. Though he has the ability to talk to snakes, normally only granted to those on the dark side, his power of choice once again takes over. He has everything he needs to become an extremely evil and powerful wizard, but he chooses to stay ono the side of good, no matter what hardships and troubles it ensues. He's human and flawed; I see his glasses to be a physical manifestation of his insecurity and mortality. He's not perfect; he gets angry, he makes mistakes, he gets in trouble like normal kids his age. I know you asked the other list members to explain how Harry Potter has changed -their- lives, but I choose instead to write about the lessons in general. There's a lot to be learned from the books, and they'll surely be enjoyed for generations to come. ~Echo AIM: CagedByFreedom --- "Jamieson Wolf Villeneuve" > wrote: >Hi everyone, > >I just listned to the essay by Ashley, (many and much thanx to >Angela for guiding me to it) and all I can say is WOW!
