One of the hardest things I've had to do was to explain to my 6 1/2 year old 1st grade daughter what happened today while she was at school( they didn't tell the kids-sent note home with parents to explain it as much as we felt comfortable with).  the temtation was to not tell her at all.  That little face looking up at me and then back at the TV, I just barely choked through it and then sat holding her for a time.  She doesn't quite get it, and I'm glad.  But her generation will be so affected by this.  The dark time that we are truly facing is scary and troublesome.
