Molly noticed it and it stuck! Has he ever told his mum that he doesn't like maroon?! I know when I was groing up My oldest sister always got yellow, middle sis got blue and I always got pink. Think it was cause oldest liked yellow, middle liked blue and I was the baby girl never got out of the pink stuff (until I turned 16 and rebelled by only wearing red). Anyway, she probably has color conotations for each child that were established when they were little. If Ron's the only one who doesn't like his color and never said anything, why would she change it? Probably helps her keep track of things and make sure she's being fair ("oh, aweful lot of maroon around here, favoring Ronm hmmm"). Maybe in future lessons Ron will learn to change the color of his clothes of his clothes, she'll notice and take note...
