I don't have GoF right now and can't give you the exact > quote. It was along the line of 'I don't give a damn about the > wretched Peeves.' yes, don't we all take ona slightly more formal and proper personae in front a group of people, especially ones we are *supposed* to set and example for? I supervise about 50 women. When I have a staff meeting, casual as I am, i definately am careful with my words, don't swear (even though I quite often have a truckers mouth), speak a bit more hauty (have to work on that). Then, when i'm for drinks with my co-worker or even standing by the coffee pot with my co-supervisory staff, we go lax, maybe swear a bit, true opinions come out... Why should Hogwarts teachers be any different. My dad was a junior high/high school guidance counselor as I grew up. I went to a lot of teacher picnics, parties, etC and DEFINATELY saw a different side of the teachers. They made off-color jokes, swore and drank-YIKES!!! Yet, I understood the they were "off duty" and NEVER divulged their secrets! Same stuff going on with Snape! WOuld love to see more of Minerva and the rest "off"!
