This is a very interesting question.  There's also the possibility that since Tom's mom did give birth to him at an orphanage she was planning on leaving him there (why else go there?) and wrote him a letter, magically sealed to keep out nosey nurses, withinstructions for it to be given to him at a particular age (just before his 11th birthay).  

On to my question.  Does anyone know how long after books come out the audio version comes out?  Is it simultaneous? When I read these books, I switchoff between audio and hardbound.  Listen while I cook, drive, cleanhouse, walk; read sitting in bed.  If i can't get the audio of OoP right away, this house will be in a sorry state as I hold up in my rrom witht the door locked until I'm done!  Maybe when the release date is issued I should just get a B&B reservation and line up a sitter so that I can go away for a couple of days!  It would certainly be a relief to know I could get the audio right away!
