Probably just a matter of seconds, and the first priority was to
protect Harry. There really wasn't much time to consider <br>

Sir- She had 18 months. Lily & James were well aware that
what they were doing was dangerous & could easily result in
their deaths. It would be a poor magickal parent who wouldn't
begin weaving the strongest protective magick they could find
around their child. The magick was already in place- Lily's
death was the trigger that activated it, when it was needed.<br>

The spell depended on Morty offering Lily her life in exchange
for Harry's. How could she have prepared for that eventuality in
