Come the weekend...

Hi everyone,
I'm assuming no one here will object if this list remains open over
the weekend, so we can share our thoughts as and when they arise? As
long as we all use 'OOP' in the headers for spoilers, I guess we
won't turn to stone.
I remember HPforGrownups just prior to the release of GoF, when most
of us were reduced to panting and dribbling in bright-eyed
anticipation, as opposed to constructing our usual fine literary
critiques and insightful analyses of the canon. This time, I just
feel like a bag of nerves.
I've ordered two copies of OoP from WHSmiths in Lewisham, so I can
pop down there first thing Saturday morning and cart the goods home
for a non-stop session surrounded by incense, light snacks and
silence. I've shunned all opportunities for midnight purchasing
events, preferring instead to just scuttle into a corner like a
squirrel with his nuts (-apologies for that image-).
One of my copies is supposedly for someone else, but I'm not too sure
if they want it. If not, I guess I can turn it into an occasional
table. It's scary how the books are getting bigger each time: PS
(small), CoS (bigger), PoA (medium), GoF (large), OoP (hernia). I'm
already thinking I'm going to need an extra bedroom to house Book 7.
What are you all planning for the big read? Leg over the chair arm?
In bed with a torch? Sitting under a tree? Reading aloud to the
kids? Armed with a highlighter and notebook?
Neil
