In the slant of the late afternoon sun a strange figure apeared above the
horizon. It hurtled past a pond, swooped down by a barn and nearly crashed
into an old picket fence. Was it a bird? Was it a plane? No - it was a small
white goat in the train to Zrich, typing furiously and mumbling in
disjointed phrases about Meister Eckhart's metaphysics, Kant's critique of
the cosmological argument, Zrich's American football team, and how the heck
he's going to find time to read OoP.

Hi guys!
I'm on board, but ...

Well.
Here in Switzerland this is finals week. I have two final exams and two
sermons over the next two weeks and am pretty close to the end of my tether.
Friday evening I have a church function (no - I don't think we'll all watch
the films!) Afterwards, I'll head into Zrich. The bookstore opens at
midnight; at 1.01 am, they'll let me run off with the book.
I suppose I'll spend the night readreadreading. Not officially, of course.
Officially, I need my sleep. Bad. But I'll devour all night anyway. Then
I'll take the morning train to the university in Fribourg for a theological
colloqium. I'll haveOoP with me and I'll see how much I can sneak in, while
everyone else gabbles about this amazing theologian-philosopher called
Ingolf Dalferth. (If you ask me, just owning a name like that deserves a
medal of honor and a berth in the history books ... so why can't we just
skip his articles?) Then I get to ride the train home and readreadread.
Sunday morning I'll get up early to readreadread some more, then I'll show
up in church. No readreadreading in church, but I will try to walk straight
and stay awake. Then I'll go home and start studying again, until I it's
time to take my son Evan to the (american) football game I promised to take
him to. (Do they mind if the fans readreadread HP in between tackles?)
It'll be tough. But a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
I'll do an intro at some point in the future, but for the most part, I'll be
keeping my head down.
BTW, readreadreading is different from reading. I'm not sure whether I can
explain the difference, but my wife and kids can spot it from a mile away.
Baaaaaa!
Aberforth's Goat (a.k.a. Mike Gray, suddenly wondering: was Britney Spear's
hit "Oops I did it again" a typo for OoPs?)
