My parents and younger brother (whom I currently live with), younger sister
who's married and pregnant with twins (due in Sept!) and has my niece Lauren
(born on Harry's birthday - she'll be 2 this year!), and I also have my
boyfriend Mark, whom I met through the fandom - he lives in Oxford, England
(I was just there a few days ago, which is why I'm only getting to this
now).

Chicago suburbs most of my life, although I spent almost 4 years in San
Diego and 6 months in Dallas.

8/22/71, Chicago, IL

***Education/Job/Role in Life etc:
BA in Communication w/a minor in Women's Studies and then a Master of
Science in Computer Information Systems.  I currently do Technical Support
for a healthcare data company.

In a nutshell - I'm a tall, bisexual, queer, fat geek.

***First contact with Harry Potter:
It wasn't the very first, but what got me into the fandom was when the 1st
movie came out.  I thought it looked good and I didn't want to see it
without having read the books first, so I told myself to get off my arse
already and read them.  I got them all out of the library and finished them
in about 3 days flat.  That wasn't enough so I started searching the web and
the rest, as they say, is history.

***Favourite Potter things (books, characters, ships, fics, objets d'Art,
general enthusing):
Fave stuff: The UK versions of the books, the "Gryffindor Friends" soft
cuddly dolls, the Potion Bottle and Sorting Hats backpacks and the Golden
Snitch handbag.

Fave ships: Harry/Draco, Harry/Ron, Ron/Hermione, Oliver/Marcus

***Extent of Potter obsession:
I'm co-HeadMistress of RestrictedSection.org (Gryffindor, of course - the
other co-mod is Slytherin), I write naughty smutty slash and het fics, I
have license plates on my car that say "HOGWTS 1," I've just been quoted in
a newspaper article for the first time talking about HP.

***Other interests/activities:
I'm also into Smallville and ice hockey, but neither of those to the extent
that I'm into HP.

***Current/recent reading:
Some interesting vampire romance novels that I borrowed from my mom.  Before
that, Jonathan Kellerman's latest.

***Current/recent listening:
I drive an hour and a half each way to work daily, so I tend to listen to
the radio more than anything else - alternative rock/pop sort of stuff.  I'm
looking forward to Michelle Branch's new CD next week.

***Current/recent viewing:
My dad's now retired and he monopolizes the TV when he's not working on
something around the house, so I never watch anymore.  I did watch The
Matrix, Animatrix, Shrek and Casablanca with my boyfriend over last weekend,
and I saw both Chicago and Daredevil on the plane.
