Just a quick reply before the serious stuff of the day starts at the Oval -
Can't stand Luna.
Personal prejudice, of course, and quite unfair. Doesn't stop me, though.
I'm well aware that how Jo probably intends her character to be viewed is
the polar opposite of my reaction.
Perhaps 'prejudice' isn't quite the most apposite term - 'allergic reaction'
might be better - a continuing response to the (perceived) surfeit of drippy,
vague, pseudo-mystic, LoTR Galadrial-wannabes who infested the scene
during the late 60s and early 70s. Seemed to be at least one drifting round
the fringes of every social group, burbling inanities.
That mix of Tolkien and tokes was a deadly combination.

That's one of the problems with being a garrulous old fart, you repeat
yourself. Yeah, there's a post or two, brimming with vented spleen,
somewhere in the back files, but I won't bore you by offering links.
As to 'does she add anything' - no, I don't think she does. Maybe she's due
for a moment or two of glory in book 7.

So does mine.
Perversity rules.
The OED: jail also goal. With a footnote: "In Britain goal is the spelling in
official use, but both goal and jail are in literary use."
Is Monopoly literary? Now there's a question.
