The Wizarding authorities will decide to cancel Hogwarts' academic
year - Harry will still return, for some Horcrux-hunting, and to
retrieve the Half-Blood Prince's book (why else would be told how
carefully Harry placed the book in the R of R?)

Hermione will come up with the brilliant idea of contacting Eileen
Prince, who now resides inconspicuously in whatever nebulous social
realm those of a mixed-Wizarding-World-marriage must dwell (she
remains wed to Tobias Snape). Eileen will point the Trio in the
right direction as far as determining Snape's present whereabouts,
and give an important clue regarding his true allegiance.

Something must be done to repair James Potter's tattered
reputation. What could be better serve this end than a Pensieve
trip to Godric's Hallows – I mean Hollow, on Holloween – I mean
Halloween night, 1980? And just who has those memories of James'
heroic last stand buried deep within his psyche? (Hint: In PoA, the
dementors could make him faint by dredging them up).

Pace Pippin, I used to regularly predict Pettigrew's sacrificial
death as he nobly saves Harry. But now, I'm no longer convinced that
this is going to occur. Despite some doubt, I'm mostly convinced
that Snape will turn out to be DDM, and I somehow don't think Snape
& Wormtail will wind up on the same side. So, Peter will be craven
to the end, but will nevertheless start a chain of events that will
decisively contribute to the demise of Voldemort.

Azkaban Prison has been hovering around the story since Book 2 – I
predict at least one scene will actually takes place at the infamous
Prison. Death Eaters take over the prison, take several prominent
MOM personnel hostage (including Percy, Fudge & Umbridge), and put
the dementors back in charge. Harry participates in a rescue
mission, and also to find another Horcrux hidden at Azkaban.

I agree that Sirius remains dead. RAB is Regulus. Snape dies at the
Climax, as does Voldemort. Harry still doesn't know that the
Hogshead barkeep is Aberforth, so that will come up at some point.

Deaths in Book Seven: Voldy and most of the unrepentant Death
Eaters. Draco Malfoy will be killed by Voldemort early in Book
Seven, because of his cowardice at the Tower (you can't have too
many villains running loose as we approach the Grand Finale).
Vernon will inadvertently be killed early in Book Seven by Death
Eaters, trying to get Harry (Petunia & Dudley will go into hiding)
For the good guys: Molly Weasley (her OOP Boggart vision being an
example of dramatic irony), Lupin (non ESE!), Moody, Scrimegour, &
Mumdungus (OK, so those last two aren't exactly good), several
lesser students and OOPers, and last but not least Harry himself.
All the other Weasleys, Hermione, Hagrid, Tonks, Luna & Neville will
survive.
