Well what do you know? Don't answer that ;-)

Random reading has brought me this little nugget.

In heraldry it is likely that the mottoes originated from a call to 
rally troops on the battlefield, my interesting little tome states:

'This appears to have been the practise in Scotland where the slogan 
(or slughorn) is the battle cry of the chief of a clan or house, as 
in I DAR (Dalzell) and GANG WARILY (Drummond).'

Is Slughorn's cowardice a joke based on this????

btw I still loath 'horcrux' and was wondering if anyone had come up 
with a better word for Voldy's little-piece-of-soul-in-a-box 
thingies?
