Not quite Santa Cruz proper, but if you want the best movie experience in Santa
Cruz County, the Green Valley Cinema in Watsonville is the best place to see
high special effects movies. I've found that seeing movies like LoTR in a
state-of-the-art stadium seating like Green Valley is a much better experience
than seeing them at Scotts Valley (which is close to where I live). No pubs
around, though. ;)
I'm planning on seeing PoA at Green Valley tomorrow, but I'm not suggesting a
meet-up, as I'm not sure what time I will be able to get tickets (Tickets for
all Friday night shows were sold out at Green Valley Cinema in the late
afternoon).
