I'm back & weighing in on various things ....

It actually seems to me that it might be fun to open it up & let anyone
who cares to submit a logo design.  Then, we could set up a poll to
tabulate the results.  It seems more democratic to let everyone (rather
than just the FAQs Committee or the Moderators) decide.  Thoughts?  We
should have a firm deadline though .... as I *really* want to start
uploading these soon.  <g>

With Book 5 so far away, I wouldn't object if we wanted to table this
one for awhile.  I know there were a few threads in July with some vague
predictions for Book 5, right after everyone finished GoF.  And, of
course, the death "polls" belong in this one I suppose.  That's really
the only thing I can think of that's been predicted for the latter 3
books, and it's hard to separate most of the death predictions into
books.  Clearly eggplant's persistent predictions that Harry will die
belong in Book 7 since he clearly can't die before then.  <g>  Other
predicted deaths could be any of the last 3 books though.  Maybe just a
general "Predictions" FAQ??

I sympathize.  But, we've left that one in the capable hands of a
mathematician -- who better to handle the Weasley age gap issue?  :--)

This is really more my deadline for myself to be honest.  I'd rather not
stray too far into Feb just in case of any complications or early
arrivals.  So, I'm trying to set myself some firm deadlines.  I also
have some professional writing obligations that are going to eat alot
more of my time in Feb than at present.  So ... onward with the FAQs I
say!

Don't blame you a bit if you take time out for that one -- it's a
*great* read!

Noone has claimed International Book Covers -- Skimmel was originally to
have done it.  But, Skimmel is AWOL just like Melanie.  So, I'd be happy
to put your name on it Jim.  Beta-reading all the FAQ drafts that have
been uploaded would be greatly appreciated!  I have uploaded mostly
up-to-date drafts of 6 FAQs and hope to upload a draft of Hermione in
the next couple of days.

I wish that I'd employed the Heidi method from the get-go.  She's been
sliding relevant messages into various folders in her email inbox.  I've
just now created a system to do this.  I'm not sure how long Neil has
been doing this, but it does seem to be the most efficient way to handle
it.  For the initial drafts, I'm afraid I've been stuck with the method
that Simon described.  For example, with Hermione, I typed in "Hermione"
& have sifted through all the messages (an enormous task!).  Of course,
lots of messages I could tell by the subject line were not going to be
relevant to my character FAQ for Hermione & so I could skip them.  But,
lots of times I did end up opening a message & finding that there was
only a stray reference to Hermione.  The search feature has some
problems in this regard.  But, on the whole, it does work alot better
than having nothing (which is where we were with Yahoo).

I'm hoping to devote significant time to the FAQs the next several
weeks.  We do need to discuss where they are being uploaded soon
(Lexicon site or separate website).  Does anyone have any comments on
the Table of Contents (or Index) that I uploaded a few weeks ago?  Does
it seem a reasonable structure?  If so, maybe Paul could start setting
up the initial webpage??  (I know nothing about what's involved or what
he might need to get started).

We should decide about the logo soon too.
