Hello I am not a moderator but thought I would send a rough
idea of
guidelines for the logo stuff, so people know what to do. Comments in
{} need checking and working on. Apologies if someone else has
already done this.
Hello All;
For a while now various {crazed?} members of this group have been
undertaking a project to take the thousands of messages posted to
this group, and its predecessor on Yahoo, and turn the hundreds of
topics discussed into a selection of documents on the subject that we
all love that is of course Harry Potter, and all things
connected
with the books. With every successful group there has to be, and
needs to be, an eye-catching and instantly recognizable logo. This is
where we need the help of you, the members of this group.
If you would like to a design a logo to be used in conjunction with
the FAQs and with other work produced by this group then this is the
time to act. In a couple of weeks time we will all have the chance to
partake in the democratic process of voting to choose the logo that
will be used to represent this group (and no recounts will be
allowed!). As with all great competitions there are a few rules that
will need to be met for your logo to be deemed eligible for entry.
1) The logo must be no greater in size than 250 by 200 pixels.
{Is this a reasonable size? it is slightly wider than my
glasses
logo: http://www.egroups.com/files/HPforGrownups/Logos/HP.jpg and the
same height as the sorting hat logo:
http://www.egroups.com/files/HPforGrownups/Logos/sorting-hat.gif}
2) Due to legal reasons the moderators reserve the right to deem
any logo ineligible for the competition {do we need to expand and
give a reason for this?}.
3) Logos must be submitted to: {who? as I have entries for this
it cannot be me for reasons of impartiality} by 4th February {this
gives people a little over two weeks} to be deemed eligible.
4) The entering of a logo into the competition counts as
acceptance by the entrant that the moderators of the Harry Potter for
Grown Ups eGroup may use the logo in its complete form {basically I
want the entrant to pass ownership rights over to the moderators
this needs rewording}.
5) {Do we limit entries from one person? If so how many is
reasonable? (I am against this but thought I beeter mention it)}
6) {Have I missed anything?}
We look forward to receiving your entries.
