We'll put that into the guidelines as well. Does anyone want to send a
message to the group, inviting submissions & setting up guidelines &
deadlines & such? Or should I? Did Neil

Penny, did you mean the 'Minutes' I said I'd write for the Moderator group?.
Ooops! I'm really sorry... I spent some time composing a 'Minutes' message
and somehow hit a button which wiped the lot! I was too knackered to start
again. I will try to sum up at some point!

Also, I've been really busy over the last couple of days, so I haven't been
able to do much more than read each day's messages in the evenings.

FAQs:

Re: the FAQS: I expect to be posting Ron Weasley, Magical Devices, Minerva
McGonagall, Quidditch and Character Accents (for reference only) by the
weekend. Then I'll bite the bullet and start writing up Snape and Spells &
Charms. I have a sort of deadline as well, as I have another intensive
period at work during February (but I'll have a bit more time at the
beginning of March). I changed my style part way through to give the FAQs
more of an 'essay' feel. I'm not sure if that was the right move, but I'm
sticking with it <g>. I also decided to remove club members' names (with a
few exceptions), which I had in there to begin with.

Moderators:

I started updating Melanie's 'shorthand' web page, adding in a few things,
such as IIRC and OotP. Someone posted a message asking for acronyms to be
included in one of the FAQs, so I was going to add this ready-made list
(javascript/html) to the Files area as a reference. However, this seemed a
bit silly when Jim had just deleted some stuff because of the storage
problem! Could we store the file in the Graphics club, temporarily, and
point to the URL in a message? IIRC, that club is open access?

I'm sure Melanie wouldn't object to her design and (most of) her wording
being used, but should the file note her involvement? I'll answer my own
question: just frm the POV of courtesy, we should do that. Ooooh. 'POV' -
better add that one too!

BTW, I have collected nearly all the messages from the main group, since
25/08/00, but I'm afraid I deleted loads that weren't relevant to the tasks
in hand.

Neil
