Hello
Thought I may as well say how I was getting on with my FAQs as I have
finally found time in the last couple of days to get some work done on
them. I am having a bad week, but for some unknown reason the work on the
FAQs have been going well.
This term I have been concentrating on writing the Harry FAQ and it has
been annoyingly difficult. This culminated in me have a type of writers
block (can you get writers block for something like this?) for a few weeks,
which annoyed me no end. The main stumbling block seemed to be in writing
the section on whether or not Harry counts as having been abused. I
contributed loads of messages to this section but when it came to
commenting on them I ad no idea where to start or how to handle it. In the
end I managed to get something down, which will need some editing before it
is finished but it is a start. At this stage I should probably thank
Radiohead and REM, their music being what I listened to while writing this
portion of the FAQ.
The Harry FAQ is 2/3 done from the notes I have already made.
The Voldemort FAQ needs typing. I have concentrated on getting the Harry
FAQ done first.
In the last two days I have looked through the more recent messages (about
5,500 of them) and now know which need to be incorporated into my FAQs. I
have close on 40 pages of messages to read through and retrieve stuff to
put in the FAQs from. The main bulk of these are to go in Harry and
Voldemort FAQs, so hopefully the others will be updated with little hassle.
The only technicality is that I have shelved the Predictions FAQ. This is
not something I wanted to do, but I have only got it done from club
messages and to look through the group for stuff to put in would be too
time consuming at the moment. Luckily this is one of the less important
FAQs, so it is less of a problem.
I run off home tomorrow, so will be taking little notice of what is going
on in HP land for a few weeks, and probably months, as when I get back I
will be revising for finals. Hopefully my FAQs will be finished in the next
couple of days. I may create a folder in the files section to store some
files in. I am likely leaving my computer here and need an easy way to get
the FAQ stuff I have already done home and this is probably a better option
than trying to e-mail it.
Hope everyone is well and things are going ok.
Simon
