Debbie the Database Diva?
Well, since I definitely think we should add to the database *any* FP we see, regardless of whether we're working on that subject now, I don't think we should identify posts by house. Then, in the keyword columns, we can keep it simple by using names of specific FPs as each keyword (e.g., Harry, Lupin, DEs, Aurors, Government, Weasleys, Hermione, SHIP, etc.). That way, new FPers don't have to wade through the hundreds of words in the keyword database to figure out how to label the post.
I also agree with Cindy that we should not add pre/post OOP, since the message number will tell you whether it's pre- or post-OOP. I'd like to keep it simple, if possible.
And to help us remember what FPs are on our eventual to-do list, I have substantially revised and updated another database, which is now called "Fantastic Posts List and Status." It lists every FP we have done or is on the to-do list. For completed FPs, it says it's done and lists the author(s) and whether it needs updating. If we've decided to update an FP, or someone has expressed an interest in doing so, I've given it a new entry. For planned or in-process FPs, the database lists the names of persons who have expressed an interest in writing or updating it. Please check it out -- comments are welcome!
There are actually three databases with FP lists in them. In addition to the one that Cindy just created ("Fantastic Posts"), there is also "Diamonds in the Rough" and, for *very* old posts, "FORT" which means Frequent or Recurring Things and is a list of posts by topic. While this isn't very useful for updates, it should be a good resource to capture very old posts on topics we haven't written on yet, like Harry.
BTW, while we're talking about Hypothetic Alley updates it occurred to me that it might be good to add post 56099 to the Stoned!Harry discussion. That was Bill (Mongo)'s compilation of the old Stoned!Harry posts. It's not only very readable, but it captures the development of the theory really well, without having to jump from post to post.
